    Common questions

Do Indians need a visa for Bhutan?+
No visa, but a permit is mandatory and an SDF (Sustainable Development Fee) of ₹1,200/adult/day applies. We arrange both before you travel.
    How many days for Bhutan?+
5 nights is ideal: Paro 2N + Thimphu 1N + Punakha 2N. Add Phobjikha (1N) for cranes in winter.
Can we drive in from India?+
Yes — fly to Bagdogra (IXB), drive 4 hrs to Phuentsholing border, permits done same day, then continue to Thimphu. Popular for cost savings.
Is Tiger's Nest doable for elders?+
Yes with horse-assist to the halfway cafeteria. Final 30 min is stairs on foot. We plan a slow-morning start with breaks.
    Best time to visit?+
March–May (rhododendrons) and September–November (clearest skies). Winter is beautiful but Dochula & Phobjikha get snow.
Is veg / Jain food available?+
Yes. Bhutanese cuisine is heavy on chillies & cheese but every hotel makes Indian-style dal, sabzi and roti on request. We pre-brief them.
