    — Aditi & Rohan, Bangalore

    Common questions

How hard is the Austrian visa for Indians?+
Start early. You’ll need a Schengen visa. Since 2025/26, the slots at VFS can be tricky, so book at least 3-4 months before you plan to fly from Delhi or Mumbai.
Will I find vegetarian or Jain food?+
Most restaurants offer 'Gemüse' (vegetables) and excellent Italian pasta. We’ll find you the best wood-fired pizzas and even high-end Indian spots in Vienna and Innsbruck.
Should I travel by train or car?+
Austria is great by rail. The ÖBB trains are world-class, clean, and punctual. We usually include a mix of scenic train rides and private transfers.
How many days are enough for Austria?+
8 to 10 days is the sweet spot to cover Vienna, Salzburg, and the Lake District without feeling like you're on a treadmill.
Is it more expensive than Switzerland?+
Austria isn't budget, but it’s cheaper than Switzerland. Expect to spend about 1.8L to 2.5L per person including flights and decent hotels.
What kind of power plug is used?+
Standard Type F and C (two round pins). Same as most of Europe. Bring a universal adapter.
